Tsuru Class
Class Supplies
Tsuru class will primarily focus on Angel Island and immigartion, picture brides, immigration laws, Japanese relocation and internment camps, question of loyalty and reparation. In addition, as a cultural aspect, kabuki, calligraphy, and craft making with washi paper.
Students will have a field trip to Angel Island and will have two homework assignments: a family oral history and a reading assignment. Please bring any family items or information passed from generation to generation to share with the class. It is called "chiebukuro."
Please have your child bring the following supplies in a box labeled with your child's name. The box will stay in the class for the whole session.
- pencils and erasers
- glue sick and liquid glue bottle
- ruler
- colored markers or color pencils
- highlighters
- binder and binder paper
- scotch tape
- newspaper (one day volume)
