Kirin Class

Class Supplies
Kirin students will focus primarily on the Japanese relocation and internment camps during WWII, the value of gaman (perserverance), and the Buddhist observance of Obon. Any family items or information your child can share with the class in relataion to the Japanese-American relocation and internment experience would be greatly appreciated.
Please have your child bring the following supplies in a box labeled with your child's name. The box will stay in the class for the whole session.
- picture of your Japanese Family Mon (Crest) if available
- photo of a great-grandparent (or other ancestor) if available. If unable to find, bring a picture of a famous Japanese American to use in a photo frame card.
- pencils and erasers
- handheld pencil sharpener
- scissors
- ruler
- bottle of white glue (medium size is fine)
- glue stick
- black Sharpie marker - 1 thick and 1 fine point
- markers or color pencils
- vanishing fabric marker
- shoebox with lid
